"La Bergeronnette 2016 is a pure Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux Supérieur. It has a lively bouquet, with hints of green pepper, which infuses the "dynamic" black fruit that demands attention. The palate is medium-bodied with catchy black fruit. There is a nice acid structure that ensures a feeling of freshness and precision right through to the finish. It is not surprising that this wine was a success as a primeur. It is an excellent wine." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Neal Martin)

Wine rated (2018 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About wine:

Composed mainly of Cabernet Franc, this harmonious and fresh cuvée impresses with its brightness and depth.

About the estate:

For half a decade, this Entre-Deux-Mers vintage has been captivating wine lovers with its generous wines, whose expressive fruitiness is beautifully complemented by toasty oak notes.

Decanter

Wine rated (2018 guide) 90/100

About wine:

A 100% Cabernet Franc is not usually associated with a Bordeaux or Burgundy bottle! This one displays juicy, ripe fruit, but still with the classic pepper notes associated with the grape variety. The tannins are not so shy, so don't be afraid to pair it with a rib of beef.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

From the family vineyard on the right bank in Vérac, near Fronsac, Hervé Lhuillier has created a true Bordeaux Supérieur brand, whose fundamentals are depth, authenticity, and careful oak aging. New Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot vines, planted on exposed limestone (the quarries are open to visitors), will soon come into production. While the density sorting machine brought greater precision to the 2018 vintage, we remain thirsty for more in terms of the somewhat exaggerated extraction and aging. Let's give the wines time to settle before considering removing the star.

About wine:

An immediately appealing and fragrant wine with fine tannins and rich berries, which has great potential. It is full-bodied, ripe, and will age well. Just wait until 2022.
