"A new vintage of this best-seller, with a fruity, fresh, and fairly full-bodied style!"

“With a rather opulent style, driven by floral and fruity aromas, and a hint of vanilla from barrel aging, this wine does the job. Full-bodied, round, and well-structured, with still-tight tannins, it pairs well with grilled duck breast or duck with olives. ” (Guide Hachette 2025) - A Bordeaux Supérieur that’s very pleasant to drink on any occasion!

Wine rated (2026 guide) 88/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Starting with his family’s vineyard on the right bank in Vérac, near Fronsac, Hervé Lhuillier has established a true premium Bordeaux brand, built on the foundations of depth, authenticity, and carefully crafted oak aging. New vines of Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, planted on exposed limestone (the quarries are open to visitors), will soon begin production. While the density-sorting machine brought greater precision to the 2018 vintage, we remain unsatisfied with the somewhat exaggerated extraction and aging. Let’s give the wines time to settle before considering removing the star.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 89/100

Rated winery (2022 guide) Recommended

About the wine:

A pleasantly fruity nose of strawberries, raspberries, and licorice. This medium-bodied red wine is fresh and juicy, with slightly bitter tannins reminiscent of tea. Best enjoyed by 2025.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2023 guide) 89-91/100

About the wine:

The bouquet of the Fleur Haut Gaussens is very inviting. It immediately reveals fruit and freshness through hints of mint and red berries. This freshness carries over nicely into the palate. With good body, the wine displays tannins that are still somewhat angular, but they are well-integrated, and there is enough substance to round it all out.  2027–2037
