The château’s second wine is an elegant Bordeaux Supérieur, with a nose evoking very subtle notes of black fruit. On the palate, it offers a lovely structure with silky tannins and good length, ending with spicy notes. Enjoy it now—perhaps with a nice cut of red meat, for example…

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Starting with his family’s right-bank vineyard in Vérac, near Fronsac, Hervé Lhuillier has created a true premium Bordeaux brand, built on the foundations of depth, authenticity, and carefully balanced oak aging. New vines of Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, planted on exposed limestone (the quarries are open to visitors), will soon begin producing wine. While the density-sorting machine brought greater precision to the 2018 vintage, we remain unsatisfied with the somewhat exaggerated extraction and aging processes. Let’s give the wines time to settle before considering removing the star.
