Château Haut Dambert - Bordeaux Supérieur 2014
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
Alongside Merlot (20%), old Cabernet Sauvignon vines with excellent south-southwest exposure, harvested when slightly overripe, are the source of this beautiful wine full of character. Its assertive character is evident from the intense, deep color and confirmed by the rich, generous nose, dominated by candied fruits (blackberry, prune, blackcurrant) and sweet spices. The palate is well supported by mellow oak and dense, powerful tannins, which remain silky and bring plenty of volume. With a little more patience, this bottle will be at its peak. About the estate:
Jean-Luc Buffeteau, who returned to his family's land in 1998, cultivates 29 hectares of vines on the rolling hillsides of Entre-deux-Mers, in the heart of the Sauveterrois region, in the communes of Castelviel and Gornac. He produces two labels there, La Grande Métairie and Haut Dambert.
