Château de Languissan

Languissan Castle
Château de Languissan is an estate acquired by Lucien Sibille in 1909, located in the heart of Croignon and the Entre-deux-Mers wine region. Today, the property spans about ten hectares planted in an amphitheater-style layout. The estate produces two red wines: a Bordeaux Supérieur and a special cuvée Bordeaux Supérieur "aged in oak barrels" made from the vineyard’s oldest plots. Château de Languissan also produces a rosé within the Bordeaux appellation.

The vineyards of Château de Languissan, , which are about thirty years old, are planted with Cabernet and grow on red quartz-based gravel from the early Quaternary period, while the Merlot vines, which are about fifty years old, grow on Tertiary limestone.

The wines of Château de Languissan are produced using organic farming methods, which specifically prohibit the use of any synthetic chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. The Château de Languissan vineyard is tilled and maintained naturally, in harmony with the cycles of the year, the biology of the soil, and its environment. The estate is ECOCERT certified.
