Château Laronde Desormes
Château Laronde Desormes is one of the many estates in the Bordeaux region owned by the Tessandier family. The Château Laronde Desormes vineyard, covering a total area of 9 hectares, belonged to the Tari family—owners of Château Giscours—before being sold to the current owners in 1992.

Château Laronde Desormes is located a few hundred meters from the Garonne River. Its soil, composed of alluvial deposits known as “palus” (a mixture of clay and sand), once produced the Médoc’s most famous wines before they were replanted on gravelly soils. The wines of Château Laronde Desormes are produced under the AOC Bordeaux Supérieur appellation. The average age of the vines is 35 years. The grape varieties consist of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec, and 10% Petit Verdot. The grapes are harvested by hand. Winemaking follows traditional methods: full destemming, fermentation in tanks, temperature control and management, and a 15-day vatting period. All of this care, combined with the unique terroir, gives Château Laronde Desormes’ wines a remarkable aromatic finesse within this appellation.
