Maison Sichel
Of British origin, the the Sichel family is moving to Bordeaux in 1883 to establish his wine trading business there.
Beyond their role as wine merchants, the Sichel family has, for several generations, prided itself on its commitment to overseeing and controlling every aspect of its wines, from production to marketing.
By acquiring Château Palmer in 1938, followed by Château Angludet in 1961, Château Trillol in 1990, and finally Château Argadens in 2002, the Sichels have acquired the know-how, expertise, and “culture” of viticulture essential to mastering this craft.
As master winemakers, the members of the Sichel family allow the unique character of each château—and thus of each wine—to shine through.
Over the years, significant investments have been made in the Sichelestates torestructure the vineyards and improve the winery, notably by modernizing the fermentation cellars and creating new aging cellars. Thus, through meticulous care and precision, the wines in the AOP Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur, Margaux, and Corbières appellations fully express the quality of the terroir. Each year, the wines receive numerous awards, underscoring the estate’s clear commitment to establishing Château Argadens among the finest wines in the Bordeaux Supérieur category. In keeping with its values and with a commitment to environmental stewardship, Château Argadens has adopted Sustainable Agriculture and was one of the very first Bordeaux estates to be certified ISO 14001 in 2011 and HVE 3 in 2014.
