Château de Francs

Château de Francs boasts a magnificent estate with 40 hectares of vines planted on fabulous clay-limestone soil similar to that found on the Saint-Emilion plateau in the Bordeaux region.

The red grapes of Château de Francs are harvested partly by hand, vinified with care in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with plot selection, and aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new. The wines of Château de Francs are stirred for the first eight months before being removed from the barrels for bottling

The wines of Côtes de Francs undoubtedly share a family resemblance: they almost always have the silky, almost creamy texture characteristic of wines from the right bank. Their distinctive feature, which Château de Francs is no exception to, is undoubtedly their very ripe notes, due to the fact that the owners of Francs are always the last to harvest. The AOC Côtes de Francs appellation is also the only one on the right bank to produce white wines, which account for 10 to 20% of production.
