Francs Castle
Château de Francs is situated on a magnificent estate with 40 hectares of vineyards planted on a fabulous clay-limestone terroir similar to that found on the Saint-Emilion plateau in the Bordeaux region.

The red grapes at Château de Francs are partially harvested by hand; winemaking is carried out with great care in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with plot-by-plot selection, and the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new. Château de Francs wines are stirred on the lees for the first 8 months before being removed from the barrels for bottling

The wines of the Côtes de Francs undeniably share a family resemblance: they almost always exhibit that silky, almost creamy texture characteristic of Right Bank wines. Their distinctive character—a trait that Château de Francs embodies as well—undoubtedly lies in their very ripe notes, a result of the fact that the owners of Francs are always the last to harvest. The AOC Côtes de Francs appellation is also the only one on the right bank to produce white wines, which account for 10 to 20% of production.
