The Guignards had a good nose when they bought this 28-hectare vineyard, formerly owned by Lur-Saluces (Yquem), in 2008. It is indeed a gem, as they announced. Voted a favorite last year, this red Graves wine has repeated the feat. Made from a blend dominated by Merlot (66%), it is acclaimed for its deep color and its frank bouquet of cherry, plum, licorice, and spices. Its palate is equally impressive, round, full-bodied, and generous, supported by silky tannins. The long finish echoes the complex aromas on the nose. A lasting harmony." About the estate:
The Guignard brothers, Bruno, an oenologist, Dominique, an agricultural engineer, and Pascal, who has extensive experience in South Africa, are continuing the work of previous generations. Based in the southern Graves region near the imposing Château de Roquetaillade, built for a nephew of the Gascon Pope Clement V, they cultivate several vineyards.

Very good: a pleasant nose and a light taste that appealed to my partner, who doesn't usually like Bordeaux wines. I recommend it to everyone!
