Robert Parker - Wine Advocate

Wine rated (2022 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)

Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About wine:

Citran 2019 shows well in the bottle, revealing aromas of blackcurrant, red plums, and subtle notes of sweet earth. Medium-bodied, lively and discreet, with powdery tannins and bright acidity, it concludes with a firm and youthful finish. While not the most demonstrative Bordeaux 2019, it will reward bottle aging to offer classic medium weight. (William Kelley)

Wine rated (2022 guide) 90/100

About wine:

Château Citran 2019 has developed well during aging. Delicious notes of red cherry, mint, tobacco, licorice, rose petal, cinnamon, and dried herbs enhance this expressive Haut-Médoc. Notes of cedar, menthol, and spice linger. The 2019 is a little rustic, but it offers plenty of character. (Antonio Galloni)

About wine:

Notes of blackcurrant and blackberry with hints of clove, licorice, tobacco, and hazelnuts. It has medium body and ripe, velvety tannins. Juicy and round with a fruity finish. Citran 2019 needs two or three years to soften and open up.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 90-91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is elegant and refined. It offers notes of juicy strawberry, crushed boysenberry, and lighter hints of fleshy black berries, combined with subtle touches of blueberry, zan, chocolate, and very discreet hints of morello cherry and vanilla. The palate is mineral, fruity, balanced, and offers a fine acidity, smoothness, precision, and a fine texture. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of blackberry, pulpy/juicy boysenberry, pulpy blackcurrant and, more subtly, raspberry, combined with delicate hints of violet and blueberry, as well as subtle hints of zan, tonka bean and a subtle hint of toasted hazelnut/vanilla. Good length. The tannins are precise and delicate.

About wine:

Dark fruits, slightly spicy for a full bouquet with notes of graphite on aeration. Medium-bodied on the palate, with firm, structured tannins and a slightly graphite finish. A beautiful ensemble in a vintage that suits it particularly well.
