"An exceptional Haut-Médoc, a hidden gem that I suspect offers excellent value for the price! ~ Jeb Dunnuck"

“Perfect for a family Christmas dinner, this delightfully supple and easy-to-drink wine, with aromas of ripe fruit, comes from the excellent 2016 vintage. A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, enhanced with a touch of Cabernet Franc. It is at its peak, where the fruit—still young and precise—is beginning to blossom and develop the roundness and flavor that come with age.” (Decanter 2025) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected)

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated 89/100

About the wine:

A lively wine with an exuberant nose featuring well-defined fruit and notes of peony and truffle, and a dense, vigorous, and long attack on the palate. It has great potential. Best enjoyed before 2028.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 90/100

About the wine:

Château Citran 2016, with its ruby color and purple highlights, is an exceptional Haut-Médoc. It offers a profusion of red and black fruits, notes of forest floor and graphite, a full body, and a balanced, elegant texture—all perfectly characteristic of the vintage. It is a hidden gem and, I suspect, excellent value for the price. 2020–2035

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2018 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

Garnet red with violet highlights. The bouquet of this Citran serves as a reminder of just how capable this estate is of producing high-quality wines. It is complex, intense, and very inviting. The palate is equally impressive. Slightly smooth, it features full-bodied tannins that are well-balanced with the wine’s acidity. This acidity provides solid support for the wine as a whole and works perfectly with the tannins to round out the finish. A fine achievement at Citran! 2021–2032
