"Great value for money!"
"Clément-Pichon 2018 is a powerful and distinctive Haut-Médoc. Iron, dried herbs, tobacco, menthol, and coffee give the 2018 layers of nuance. It is a wine that is more dynamic than voluminous, and it is very impressive. This cru bourgeois supérieur has a lot to offer. (Vinous 2021) - A Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the Fayat family's portfolio, like the eponymous château in Pomerol and La Dominique in Saint-Emilion.

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Purchased in 1976 by Clément Fayat, who also owns Château La Dominique in Saint-Émilion and Château Fayat in Pomerol, the vineyard boasts a superb building located in Parempuyre, on the outskirts of Bordeaux. For several years now, thanks to their consistency, these wines have become a sure bet within the appellation. Colorful and dense, they never lack refinement and age well.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About wine:
A lovely wine still slightly marked by aging but already expressive with beautiful aromas of wild berries, orange peel, and toast. Its development on the palate is also appealing with its juiciness, dense tannins, and pleasant woodiness. 2024-2030
About the estate:
A wine of long-standing renown, named after a Caribbean island by a wealthy merchant who owned the estate in the 18th century. The Baillencourt family, who had been established here since 1933, sold it in 1969 to the powerful industrialist Clément Fayat, who also owned Châteaux Fayat (Pomerol) and Clément-Pichon (Haut-Médoc). The 25-hectare vineyard, located northwest of Saint-Émilion, near Pomerol, is established on beautiful ancient sandy soil with a clay subsoil. A new contemporary-style winery, designed by Jean Nouvel, was built in time for the 2013 vintage.

About wine:
Owned by the same proprietors as Château la Dominique in Saint-Émilion, this estate has produced a ripe wine dominated by Merlot. Although the fruit is intense, this wine has confidence and clarity, giving it a certain lightness. It is worth waiting for this wine until 2024.

About wine:
Aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry leaves, gravel, and fennel seeds. A hint of iodine too. Medium-bodied, with firm, tight tannins. The finish is savory and ferrous. Try from 2024 onwards.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 90-92/100
About wine:
This wine is aged in 30% barrels, 60% of which are new and 40% have been used once. Purple-violet in color. What a symbiosis of freshness, maturity, charm, and rigor! Notes of graphite, eucalyptus, blackcurrant, and licorice wood. On the palate, the wine is elegant, balanced, and slightly creamy. It has perfectly integrated tannins and a refreshing structure. A wine to follow over time, but one that clearly displays its ambition to combine rigor and charm, both on the nose and on the palate. 2024-2034
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
The nose is fruity, fresh, and offers good structure and fine concentration. There are notes of blackcurrant, black cherry, and a hint of licorice, combined with subtle hints of ripe/fresh red fruits and delicate touches of flowers, crushed red berries, licorice, and a subtle hint of cardamom. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers freshness, minerality, juiciness and a subtle acidic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of black cherry, juicy/fresh blackcurrant and, more subtly, fleshy/juicy raspberry, combined with delicate hints of licorice and a very subtle hint of toast on the finish/persistence. Good length.
