"A sophisticated wine - James Suckling"
" Really floral and pretty with currants, cherries, and some violets and stones. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture. Attractive tannins and hints of stone. A high percentage of Merlot with Cabernet, making it fresh and firm. Sophisticated." (James Suckling 2022)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the estate:
Since 2003, Bruno Borie, with the invaluable help of Éric Boissenot as oenological advisor, has enabled this renowned wine to return to its highest level, very close to and sometimes superior to certain premier crus. The second wine, La Croix-de-Beaucaillou, which includes the remarkable vines of the former Terrey Gros Cailloux, has been among the best in its category since 2005. A third Saint-Julien, Lalande-Borie, an old and respected brand in the wine trade, is a supple, elegant and early-maturing wine from vines that belonged to Château Lagrange in 1855.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2020 guide) 3 stars (These represent the excellence of French vineyards. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment.)
About the estate:
Lovers of classic Médoc wines will find what they are looking for with Ducru-Beaucaillou. Bruno Borie manages this superb vineyard with talent and determination; in recent years, he has placed it among the top Bordeaux wines. Never ostentatious, over-extracted or overly powerful, these wines shine with their distinction and silky texture. They are deep, digestible and balanced Médoc wines. Be careful, however, as a Ducru-Beaucaillou only reveals its full potential with age, so it is always a shame to taste it too early; its great freshness on the finish and the elegant texture of its tannins are testament to the exceptional capacity of its terroir. Croix de Beaucaillou, the château's former second wine, is now a wine in its own right, with its own dedicated vineyard.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 89/100
About wine:
Spicy and fruity in character, the bouquet is classic and fresh. This is confirmed on the palate, where the wine is delicious, balanced, and well supported by its tannins. A wine with character and authenticity that perfectly embodies the Bordeaux style. Fruit, power, and flavor. 2023-2034
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2020 guide) 90-91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
The nose is elegant and offers a little power and harmony. There are notes of blackcurrant, wild strawberry and, more subtly, wild red berries, combined with hints of spice, nutmeg, discreet touches of pepper and an imperceptible hint of fresh tobacco. The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, distinguished and offers good finesse, harmony, smoothness, good definition, as well as a tangy structure, fine tension and fine integrity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, pulpy/juicy red berries and, more subtly, pulpy blackcurrant, combined with delicate hints of violet, nutmeg, fresh blond tobacco, subtle hints of spice and chocolate. Good length. Very subtle hints of crushed almond/hazelnut and caramelization on the finish/persistence. A very subtle chewiness on the finish/persistence. Good persistence.
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2020 guide) 89-90/100
About wine:
Flowers, raspberries, and a hint of spice round out the nose. The wine is medium-bodied, straightforward, round, and fruity, with a fresh, smooth finish filled with blackcurrant cream. Give it a year or two in the cellar and it should be even better.
