"A style similar to St-Julien!"

"The very delicate nose is reminiscent of licorice and blackcurrant. The attack is very lively and fresh, with a lively energy, and the tannins coat the palate. The whole is very structured, playing in the same league as Saint-Julien. A very fine 2019! " (Terre de Vins 2019) - Over the years, many changes have been made, resulting in an evolution in the style of the wines. More precise, more refined, and deeper, they nevertheless retain the identity that has made them so successful. - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Since the arrival of the dynamic and efficient Paz Espejo, Château Lanessan wines have regained their luster. Still owned by the Bouteiller family since the 18th century, this 45-hectare vineyard, adjacent to the Saint-Julien appellation, is one of the rising stars of the Haut-Médoc. The 2010 vintage is the first true vintage produced by Paz since her arrival. The other estate, Château de Sainte-Gemme, with eight hectares of vines planted around twenty years ago, produces a particularly elegant Haut-Médoc. Over the last few vintages, the wines have truly refined and gained in charm.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2022 guide) 90/100

About wine:

Beautiful texture, deep and intense yet delicate with hints of blackcurrant and black cherry. The tannins are pleasantly dry and chalky, and an appealing minerality emerges. A solid core, well presented but not extremely long. 2022-2030

Wine rated (2022 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)

About wine:

Located on gravel banks south of Saint-Julien, this estate has produced some outstanding wines over the years, and this 2019 Lanessan is a solid effort. It offers aromas of blackcurrant, cob, cigar box, and licorice. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied, lively and well-balanced, with a fleshy core of fruit and ripe tannins that are still too powerful due to its youth. 2021-2039

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100

About wine:

Fruity nose of blackberries, blackcurrants, chocolate-covered orange, and oyster shells. The wine is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Balanced and fresh with some spicy and salty notes on the finish. Drink from 2023 onwards.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100

About wine:

An elegant, refined bouquet with hints of black berries and spices. On the palate, the wine lives up to the finesse promised by the bouquet. Its tannins are finely grained and assert themselves precisely, pairing perfectly with the acidity. A fresh, slender, sapid wine that is ready to stand the test of time! 2024-2040

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 91-92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is fruity and offers a very delicate intensity. It reveals notes of juicy/ripe blackcurrant, morello cherry and, more subtly, crushed boysenberry, combined with hints of wild strawberry, racy minerality and delicate touches of toast, caramelization, and spices. The palate is fruity and balanced, with a tangy texture, richness, smoothness, and good structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, candied blackcurrant and, more subtly, crushed wild strawberry, as well as hints of ripe berries, caramelization, toast and a very discreet hint of blond tobacco leaf and ripe hazelnut. The tannins are elegant. A very discreet hint of caramelization on the finish.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100

About wine:

Bright, fresh, and lively, with smoke, dried flowers, spices, tobacco, and blackcurrant on the nose. On the palate, the wine is full of ripe red and black fruits, espresso, and herbs, offering persistent power through to the finish. It should age well. Drink between 2024 and 2037.

Anthocyanins - Yohan Castaing

Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing

Wine rated (2020 guide) 90-92/100

About wine:

Fresh fruit and a hint of blueberry for an elegant, fresh, and delicate bouquet. Taut on the palate, with slightly sharp acidity at this stage and a moderately dense structure. Rather straightforward, which suits it perfectly. For drinking in 10-15 years.
