Château des Arnauds
The Château des Arnauds is a historic family estate that has been passed down from father to son for more than four generations. The SCEA Château des Arnauds was founded in 1993 under the management of Philippe Godineau, who continued the traditional winemaking practices. After 18 years at the helm, Philippe handed the reins to the younger generation. Jérôme and Sébastien jointly took over management of the estate. Today, Sébastien works to enhance the estate and maintain the quality of the château’s wines.
The Château des Arnauds vineyard now covers an area of 14.5 hectares, with soil composed of various components: gravelly or sandy-silty-gravelly. Located near the confluence of the Dordogne and the Isle rivers, the plots benefit from sunlight, warmth, and humidity that are highly favorable for growing grapes. The vineyard is cultivated in a way that respects the terroir, with controlled grass cover.
Built in 1914, the winery has undergone numerous improvements. It now includes a “fermentation tank” area and a small barrel cellar. At Château des Arnauds, the harvest date is meticulously determined to ensure the highest quality grapes.
