“A dazzling aromatic charm that makes this a true classic of the region. Great value for money!”

" Favorite this smooth and flavorful Bordeaux red from start to finish: the 2019 vintage from Domaine du Grand Ormeau in the Lalande-de-Pomerol AOC! Already very open, this blend from the terroirs of Néac and Lalande offers a shimmering aromatic allure, with distinctly Pomerol-style notes of violet and dulce de leche. The body is approachable and delicate, without any heaviness, yet smooth and flavorful from start to finish.” (Guide Hachette 2023)

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated wine (2023 guide) 2* Stars (Outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the wine:

Powerful, concentrated, velvety, and well-rounded, this superb classic from the region offers beautiful aromatic complexity centered on red berries, spices, and licorice, all supported by smooth, silky tannins. It would pair beautifully with a fondue bourguignonne or braised beef cheek. 2023–2028

About the estate:

Coming from a long line of winemakers, Jean-Paul Garde managed the family vineyards (now spanning some 30 hectares) between 1974 and 2014, which are spread across three Libourne appellations: Lalande, Montagne, and Pomerol. His children have since taken over the reins of the estate, which is HVE-certified.
