About the estate:
Acquired in 2009 by Julie and Xavier Gonet-Médeville—who also own the eponymous champagne house and Château Gilette in Sauternes—this small Margaux vineyard, spanning just three hectares, is situated on deep gravel soils in the commune of Margaux. It is the quintessential Margaux, characterized by great precision.

The 2013 vintage is the smoothest and most delicate of the wines from this small, artisanally vinified cru. It is nonetheless a pleasant wine to drink while it’s still fruity.

A true revelation among recent vintages, this small estate was taken over by Julie and Xavier Gonet-Médeville in 2009. Its 2.5-hectare vineyard, superbly situated in Margaux, produces a refined and elegant wine that rivals many of the classified growths. The addition of a new wine cellar and fermentation tanks for the 2014 vintage will allow the estate to take things even further. A wonderful discovery off the well-trodden path of the classified growths.
