Marquis d'Alesme Castle
The Marquis d'Alesme Castle Located in Margaux, the estate was founded in 1585 by François d'Alesme, then squire and advisor to King Henry III at the Parliament of Bordeaux. Undergoing constant evolution over the centuries, Marquis d'Alesme was classified as a Third Growth in 1855, at which time it was owned by the Snazjdzeski family. In 1938, Edmond Ritz, a native of Alsace, took over the estate; in 1979, his grandson undertook major renovations to modernize and expand the cellars’ capacity to accommodate 250 barrels.

In 2006, a breath of fresh air swept through Château Marquis d'Alesme. Hubert Perrodo, a prominent industrialist and already the owner of Château Labégorce, purchased the estate and undertook a major restructuring of the vineyard. Today, the estate is an integral part of Vignobles Labégorce, led by Nathalie Perrodo-Samani, with a modernization in 2013 that reinvented the entire property: a new fermentation room, new cellars, a private pavilion, a guest village, and a collection of gardens.
