Château Rauzan-Gassies
Château Rauzan-Gassies is classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. This 28-hectare estate, located in the Margaux appellation, had long suffered from a lack of investment. But thanks to the Quié family—winegrowers in the Médoc since 1936—the estate has regained its former glory and reconnected with its magnificent terroir of deep gravel and gravelly sand. Jean-Philippe and his sister Anne-Françoise work with passion and respect for tradition. They produce a wine typical of Margaux’s Grand Cru style: complex, deep, and elegant. They also produce a second wine called Gassies, which is supple and refined and offers excellent value for the price.
