Château La Tour de By

Château La Tour de By is a 94-hectare estate in the heart of the Médoc vineyards in the Bordeaux region. Classified as a Médoc Cru Bourgeois since 1932, the average age of the Château La Tour de By vineyard is approaching 40 years, planted exclusively with noble grape varieties (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot). It benefits from a magnificent terroir, the natural cradle of some of the best Médoc wines, partly composed of Garonne gravel.

Since the 1980s, Château La Tour de By has prioritized ecological methods of disease and pest management in order to minimize the use of chemicals by exploiting the complex interactions between harmful and beneficial organisms. In terms of vinification, Château La Tour de By's vatting periods are long—lasting 3 to 5 weeks—and the wine is aged in oak barrels (30% new) for around 16 months in the aging cellar, which is half-buried and perfectly air-conditioned.
