Château La Tour de By

Château La Tour de By is a 94-hectare estate located in the heart of the Médoc wine region in Bordeaux. Classified as a Médoc Cru Bourgeois since 1932, the average age of Château La Tour de By’s vineyards is nearly 40 years, planted exclusively with noble grape varieties (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot). It benefits from a magnificent terroir, the natural birthplace of some of the finest Médoc wines, composed in part of Garonne gravel.

Since the 1980s, Château La Tour de By has prioritized ecological methods for managing diseases and pests, aiming to minimize the use of chemicals by leveraging the complex interactions between harmful and beneficial organisms. As for winemaking, the fermentation period at Château La Tour de By is long—3 to 5 weeks—and aging takes place in oak barrels (30% new) for approximately 16 months in the aging cellar, which is half-buried and perfectly climate-controlled.
