2025 Highlights
Pack of 6 wooden boxes

“A style true to the vintage: light and precise, with less Merlot and a more elegant profile! ~ RVF”

“Aromatic intensity, wildflowers, hints of chocolate and blackcurrant. Red cherries. Firm and full-bodied on the palate, yet soft, chalky, and briny, with a magnificent mouthfeel blending ripe blackberries, fresh blueberries, and generous notes of cola, licorice, and wet stones. Very transparent and natural. A touch of frankness, but with a lovely muscular liveliness without heaviness. Juicy, playful, clean, pure. Balanced. Savory. Excellent work on extraction control: the tannins are present, but the wine is also savory. A bit more serious and structured, and perhaps overall more elegant than the Clerc.” (Decanter 2026)

Wine rated (2026 guide) 94-95/100

Rated estate (2016 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

A style true to the vintage: light and precise, with less Merlot and a more slender profile. Well-defined, with fine, well-integrated tannins, and a balanced, delicate palate. The elegant finish lingers with notes of graphite and black fruit, ending on a savory note.

About the estate:

Effectively managed by the Mouton Rothschild team, Château d'Armailhac is an excellent value for wine lovers. Its very reasonable price and consistent quality make it a must-have wine. The vineyard, situated on gravelly hillsides near Mouton Rothschild and Pontet-Canet, is of high quality, and the blend includes a significant percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. Under the guidance of Philippe Dhalluin, the wine has gained in body over the past decade, and it is always fun to compare it to its stablemate Clerc Millon, which relies more heavily on Merlot.
