La Bécasse Castle
Château La Bécasse, created in 1966 and owned by Georges Fonteneau, is located next to an illustrious neighbor: Lynch Bages. A modest estate with only 4 hectares of vines planted on gravelly, clay-limestone soil, Château La Bécasse has old vines in the Latour area and produces what are undoubtedly some of the best unclassified wines in Pauillac.

Château La Bécasse is very representative of the Pauillac terroir, producing a wine with a powerful character without being aggressive. With a blue-black color and an intense aroma of red fruits and spices, La Bécasse seems to be the ideal partner for the bird of the same name and is a must-have in any good hunter's cellar. The latest vintages have even gained in finesse and complexity.

The last estate to resist the influence of Château Latour, Château La Bécasse was bought by the latter in 2012.
