Château La Bécasse
Château La Bécasse, founded in 1966 and owned by Georges Fonteneau, is located next to an illustrious neighbor: Lynch Bages. A modest estate with just 4 hectares of vineyards planted on gravelly and clay-limestone soil, Château La Bécasse boasts old vines in the Latour sector and produces what are undoubtedly among the best unclassified wines of Pauillac.

Château La Bécasse is highly representative of the Pauillac terroir, producing a wine with powerful character without being aggressive. With a blue-black color and an intense aroma of red fruits and spices, La Bécasse seems to be the ideal pairing for the bird of the same name and is a must-have in any serious hunter’s wine cellar. Recent vintages have even gained in finesse and complexity.

The last estate to resist Château Latour’s influence, Château La Bécasse was acquired by Château Latour in 2012.
