Château La Bécasse
Château La Bécasse, established in 1966 and owned by Georges Fonteneau, sits next to a renowned neighbor: Lynch Bages. A modest estate with just 4 hectares of vines planted on gravelly and clay-limestone soil, Château La Bécasse boasts old vines in the Latour sector and produces what are arguably among the best unclassified wines of Pauillac.

Château La Bécasse is highly representative of the Pauillac terroir, producing a wine with powerful character without being aggressive. With a blue-black hue and an intense aroma of red fruits and spices, La Bécasse seems to be the ideal companion for the bird of the same name and is an essential part of any good hunter’s cellar. Recent vintages have even gained in finesse and complexity.

The last estate to resist Château Latour’s influence, Château La Bécasse was acquired by the latter in 2012.
