Château Latour

Château Latour
Château Latour is located in the heart of the Médoc, about 30 miles north of Bordeaux. Château Latour has been owned by François Pinault since 1993. He initiated extensive renovations that have provided Château Latour with the resources it needs to pursue perfection. Château Latour’s Grand Vin is a Premier Grand Cru Classé de Pauillac according to the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The Château Latour vineyard is largely situated on the gravelly hills of Pauillac overlooking the Gironde estuary. This combination gives the Château Latour terroir its unique character. The owner’s desire to modernize the estate also led him to adopt biodynamic viticulture.

Château Latour wine is primarily made and blended from Cabernet Sauvignon, which covers 80% of the vineyard, and Merlot. The remainder consists of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Château Latour wine is aged in French oak barrels for nearly two years before bottling. The Château Latour grand cru offers elegance, concentration, and a bouquet that will fully express itself after 10 to 15 years of aging. After this period, a Château Latour wine will reveal itself to be one of the finest wines in the world.
