Château Latour

Château Latour is located in the heart of the Médoc, about 50 kilometers north of Bordeaux. Château Latour has been owned by François Pinault since 1993. He initiated extensive renovations there that now provide Château Latour with the resources it needs in its quest for perfection. Château Latour’s grand cru is a Premier Grand Cru Classé de Pauillac according to the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The Château Latour vineyard is largely situated on the gravelly ridges of Pauillac overlooking the Gironde estuary. This combination gives Château Latour’s terroir its unique character. The owner’s commitment to modernizing the estate has also led him to adopt biodynamic viticulture.

Château Latour wine is produced and blended primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon—which accounts for 80% of the vineyard’s area—and Merlot. The remainder consists of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Château Latour is aged in French oak barrels for nearly two years before bottling. This grand cru from Château Latour offers elegance, concentration, and a bouquet that will fully express itself after 10 to 15 years of aging. After this time, a Château Latour wine will reveal itself to be one of the finest wines in the world.
