Couhins Castle

Château Couhins is owned by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), which purchased it in 1968. Located in Villenave d'Ornon, on the outskirts of Bordeaux, and under the management of Dominique Forget, Château Couhins is once again becoming a rising star, now ranking alongside its peers in the Graves Grand Cru Classé classification.

The Château Couhins vineyard, which covers 19 hectares of red and 6 hectares of white, is a vast field of experimentation and research in viticulture and production. The terroir consists of a gravelly hilltop, a clay hillside on a limestone base, and a sandy-clay area. Environmentally friendly, sustainable farming principles are applied to the vines, and the best techniques in winemaking and aging are used.

Château Couhins wines are renowned for their quality, with a Grand Cru white that stands out for its delicate bouquet of spring flowers, its fullness and liveliness, and a red with supple tannins, refined aromas, and great finesse on both the nose and palate.
