"If there's one style that stands out in the Pomerol landscape, it's Mazeyres. Simply sparkling! ~ La RVF

"We love the broad, uncluttered palette on the nose. Floral notes, red fruit and pepper, plum jam, hints of licorice and gentian, this is a wine of great finesse, tasty and elegant. The palate is suspended, with an airy texture, expressing fine spices and subtly earthy notes. We're literally between heaven and earth. Mazeyres 2020 is savory, salivating and sappy, with fine-grained, serrated tannins. A great success for the vintage". (Terre de Vins 2021) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

As at Fonroque (Saint-Émilion), manager Alain Moueix, a talented viticultural engineer and oenologist from a large family of Libourne winegrowers and merchants, contributes his commitment, expertise and know-how. The essential contribution of biodynamic viticulture has put the progression of this cru on an upward quality trajectory, earning it a well-deserved promotion. The resulting wines are lively and elegant. The latest vintages are proving charming.

About the wine:

Mazeyres 2020 opens in the glass with aromas of minty berries, plums, petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it is lively and flavorful, with velvety tannins and a bewitching aromatic profile. Composed largely of Cabernet Franc and characterized by sandy soils, this Pomerol estate is farmed organically and biodynamically. 2023-2040

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

If there's one style that stands out on the Pomerol landscape today, it's Mazeyres. This 2020 is simply sparkling, ripe without excess, with a white wine freshness that brings a bluffing brilliance to the whole and counterbalances the power of the vintage with brio. The caressing touch is magnified by a fade of texture, underlining its harmony and pulp. Irresistible now, it will age with serenity.

About the domain :

Located at the northern entrance to Libourne, this large estate is run by Alain Moueix. He applies the same viticultural philosophy as at Château Fonroque in Saint-Émilion. The vineyard was certified organic in 2015, then biodynamic in 2018. Driven to elegance and measure by the very nature of the Mazeyres terroir, the wines have reached a new level in recent vintages. We're under the spell of these harmonious Pomerols, civilized and natural at the same time, with a breathtaking finesse of flavor. It's time for our first star.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

Mazeyres 2020 is a magnificent wine from Alain Mouiex. Beautifully structured on the palate, it reveals exceptional density and character. With great depth, this wine stands out for its particularly perfumed style, largely dominated by the frank, expansive aromas of the Franc grape variety. The long, persistent finish is truly remarkable. Drink between 2028 and 2045.
