“The wine has a ruby color. The nose features red fruit (redcurrant, blackcurrant buds) and subtle oak notes. The attack is silky, with a balanced and full mid-palate. The finish is smooth, moderately long, and free of bitterness.” (La Croix du Casse Estate 2019)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

This estate owned by Philippe Casteja is one of the great classics of Pomerol. It benefits from the same technical expertise as its big brother, Château Domaine de l'Église. The wines age with elegance and classicism. The latest vintages are of a good standard. We recommend it for its reliability and excellent value for money.

About the estate:

The estate produces a supple and very flavorful Pomerol, with a strong truffle bouquet reminiscent of Clinet, at a much more affordable price. Its vineyard, located on sandy-gravelly soils, is excellent.
