Château La Violette

Château La Violette
Château La Violette is one of the estates owned by Catherine Péré-Vergé. Based in Pomerol since 1985, Catherine Péré-Vergé has demonstrated her energy and drive by undertaking an extensive investment program for her Château Montviel estate. From this foothold in the appellation, Vignobles Péré-Vergé quickly demonstrated ambitious aspirations, determined to acquire one of Pomerol’s premier vineyards, and ultimately chose the prestigious Château Le Gay, a neighbor of Petrus...

In 2005, Catherine Péré-Vergé became the owner of Château La Violette, the jewel of the Pomerol plateau with its iron-rich subsoil, the "Holy of Holies" according to oenologist Michel Rolland. Spanning 3.25 hectares, Château La Violette takes its name from an original and exquisite violet fragrance that has always captivated the most refined palates...

Located on the heights of the famous Pomerol plateau between Trotanoy and Le Pin, the vineyard consists of 40-year-old vines. Château La Violette wines are made exclusively from Merlot, which imparts finesse, body, and fruitiness. Catherine Péré-Vergé has always relied on her friend Michel Rolland for the vinification of her wines.
