Château Rouget
Château Rouget has been owned by the Labruyère family since 1992. The family lovingly preserves its heritage while also preparing for the future. Although a relative newcomer to Bordeaux, the family is by no means a novice in the world of winemaking: at its helm is Jean-Pierre Labruyère, heir to a long line of Beaujolais winemakers.

Following the necessary renovation of part of Château Rouget’s vineyard, he turned his attention to the renovation of the fermentation tanks and cellars, which are now among the most advanced in the appellation. Expanded in 1999 by two hectares acquired from prestigious neighboring châteaux, Château Rouget’s vineyards now cover 18 hectares within the Pomerol AOC. They are on average about thirty years old, growing on clay-gravel soil—sometimes clay-siliceous—with a subsoil of ferruginous alios. Château Rouget has also enlisted the collaboration of oenologist Michel Rolland.
