Château Rouget
Château Rouget has been owned by the Labruyère family since 1992. They lovingly preserve its past while preparing for the future. Although new to Bordeaux, they are no strangers to wine production: at the helm is Jean-Pierre Labruyère, heir to a long line of Beaujolais winegrowers.
After the necessary renovation of part of the Château Rouget vineyard, he turned his attention to the vat room and cellars, which are now among the most efficient in the appellation. Enriched in 1999 with two hectares acquired from prestigious neighboring châteaux, the Château Rouget vineyards now cover 18 hectares in the Pomerol AOC. They are on average around thirty years old, planted on clay-gravelly soil, sometimes clay-siliceous, with a ferruginous subsoil. Château Rouget also enlisted the collaboration of oenologist Michel Rolland.
