Château Soleil - Puisseguin Saint-Emilion 2013
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
15/20
Bettane & Desseauve
"Parcel-by-parcel vinification, gentle extraction, malolactic fermentation in barrels, eighteen months of aging in barrels, and an admirable result, especially in such a complicated vintage. This wine offers a beautiful intensity on the nose with stimulating toasted, spicy, smoky, and mentholated notes. The palate is lively, full-bodied and rising, built on restrained tannins that become velvety on the finish, leaving a sensation of perfect maturity and balance." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

Food and wine pairings
It pairs well with a charcuterie platter, roasted or grilled meats, such as a lightly seared Bordeaux rib steak accompanied by its inseparable shallots, or with cheeses, particularly hard cheeses such as Comté, aged Gruyère, or even Parmesan.
