Bettane & Desseauve

"Vineyard-specific winemaking, gentle extraction, malolactic fermentation in barrels, eighteen months of barrel aging, and an admirable result—especially in such a challenging vintage. On the nose, this wine offers beautiful intensity with stimulating notes of toast, spice, smoke, and menthol. On the palate, it is lively, full-bodied, and building, structured on well-integrated tannins that become velvety on the finish, leaving a sensation of perfect maturity and balance.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

It pairs well with a platter of cold cuts, roasted meats, or grilled dishes—such as a quickly seared Bordeaux-style ribeye served with its classic shallots—or with cheeses, particularly hard cheeses like Comté, aged Gruyère, or even Parmesan…

About the wine:

Vineyard-specific winemaking, gentle extraction, malolactic fermentation in barrels, eighteen months of barrel aging, and an admirable result—especially in such a challenging vintage. On the nose, this wine offers beautiful intensity with stimulating notes of toast, spice, smoke, and mint. On the palate, it is lively, full-bodied, and building, structured around tannins that are restrained until they become velvety on the finish, leaving a sensation of perfect maturity and balance.

About the estate:

Founded by a group of friends led by Stephan Von Neipperg (Canon La Gaffelière in Saint-Émilion) and Didier Miqueu, SCEA Winevest Saint-Émilion acquired Château Soleil in 2005, a 20-hectare estate in Puisseguin, and added an additional 20 hectares in Lussac in 2007 with Château Croix du Rival.
