Château Soleil - Puisseguin Saint-Emilion 2013
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
15/20
Bettane & Desseauve
“Vineyard-specific winemaking, gentle extraction, malolactic fermentation in barrels, eighteen months of barrel aging, and an admirable result—especially for such a challenging vintage. On the nose, this wine offers beautiful intensity centered on stimulating toasted, spicy, smoky, and menthol notes. On the palate, it is lively, full-bodied, and building in intensity, built on well-integrated tannins that become velvety on the finish, leaving a sensation of perfect maturity and balance.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

Food and wine pairings
It pairs well with a charcuterie platter, roasted meats, or grilled dishes—such as a quickly seared Bordeaux-style entrecôte served with its classic shallots—or with cheeses, particularly hard cheeses like Comté, aged Gruyère, or even Parmesan…

About the wine:
Vineyard-specific winemaking, gentle extraction, malolactic fermentation in barrels, eighteen months of barrel aging—and an admirable result, especially for such a challenging vintage. On the nose, this wine offers beautiful intensity with stimulating toasted, spicy, smoky, and menthol notes. About the estate:
Founded by a group of friends led by Stephan Von Neipperg (Canon La Gaffelière in Saint-Émilion) and Didier Miqueu, SCEA Winevest Saint-Émilion acquired Château Soleil in 2005—a 20-hectare estate in Puisseguin—and added an additional 20 hectares in Lussac in 2007 with the purchase of Château Croix du Rival.
