"The 2019 is truly impressive, it's as simple as that! ~ Vinous"
"For this vintage, Pressac was even more rigorous in its selections, which meant that not only did we produce a third wine, but we also allowed the second and first wines to develop further. The palate offers a silky texture from the moment the tannins touch the tongue. The wine quickly becomes taut and the rebound in the mid-palate carries the wine towards a finish worthy of the best premiers crus, especially as an irresistible airy and floral touch gives even more complexity to this 2019! This wine, tasted a dozen times after bottling, was unanimously approved by all our tasting teams. (Bettane & Desseauve) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 12 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rating (2023 guide) 2 stars (Outstanding wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About wine:
Smooth and elegant, this wine successfully plays the finesse card. We appreciate its complex nose of black and red fruits, its richly fruity body with a touch of spice and plenty of freshness, its silky tannins, and finally its well-integrated oak. A lovely classic, balanced and with good length. 2025-2032
About the estate:
A classified growth (since 2012), vast (36 hectares) and historic in two ways: in 1453, it was the setting for the surrender of the English after the Battle of Castillon, and in the 18th century, the lord of the manor introduced the Auxerrois grape variety, then Noir de Pressac and finally Malbec. It was acquired in 1997 and completely renovated by Jean-François Quenin, former executive of the Darty group and former president of the Saint-Émilion Wine Council.

About the estate:
This vast estate undeniably has a lot of charm. Its vineyard is terraced beneath a spur dominated by the silhouette of the neo-Gothic main building. It is worth remembering that Pressac is the local name for Malbec, even though there is little of it here as the grape variety does not satisfy Jean-François Quenin, owner since 1997. Pressac produces a colorful, intense, demonstrative wine, which expresses itself more in the depth of its clay than in its aromatic nuances, but which shows greater refinement in recent vintages, thanks to significant investments in both the vineyard and the cellar.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 95/100
About wine:
The 2019 Pressac is just as fascinating in the bottle as it was in the barrel. A complex and captivating wine, the Pressac offers an exotic blend of black cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather, licorice, spices, and menthol. All the elements are so well balanced. Espresso, lavender, dried rose petals, and cedar linger on the complex and beautifully defined finish. The 2019 is truly impressive. It's as simple as that. 2024-2039

About wine:
Beautiful aromas of redcurrants and ripe plums with bark and moss, which linger in a medium to full body with firm, creamy tannins and notes of salt and fresh herbs. Very appealing today, but much better in 2025 and beyond.

About wine:
What plurality and depth in this bouquet, which reveals itself in a delicate manner. It clearly expresses its terroir through chalky nuances, while also highlighting the distinctive characteristics of the different grape varieties from which it is made. It displays notes of violets and black berries, followed by a hint of menthol. On the palate, the wine is elegant with precise tannins that reveal themselves slowly and provide a beautiful foundation for the entire palate. A delicious, balanced and invigorating wine. 2024-2043
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2021 guide) 94-95/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
The nose is fruity and offers balanced richness, a racy texture, a delicate creaminess (combined with a slight airiness) and a certain intensity and concentration that is perfectly balanced. There are notes of wild berries, Cubeb pepper and, more subtly, blackberry, combined with hints of crushed strawberry, bright black berries and a delicate touch of blueberry, nutmeg and a subtle hint of spice. The palate is fruity and balanced, offering freshness, minerality, a mineral structure, a lovely acidity, finesse in its richness, a well-balanced creaminess, and a lovely guideline. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of creamy blackcurrant, juicy/tart blackberry and, more subtly, tart/juicy red berries combined with hints of juicy blueberry, lily, sweet spices, and subtle hints of saffron, sweet blond tobacco, chocolate, and a discreet hint of toasted almond (in the background). The tannins are precise, well-balanced, racy, and delicately mellow. Good length.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 08/29/2024
Everything already seems to be in place in this rich and deeply colored 2019 Pressac. Enticing from the moment it hits the palate, it offers an impressive range of flavors of crisp red and black fruits, mixed with floral notes and subtle toasted nuances, mainly smoky and cocoa, on a nicely acidic base that leaves the palate enveloped in a juicy and remarkably fresh juice, while being melt-in-the-mouth. The woodiness is discreet, while the supple and precise tannins prolong the savory and spicy finish. A rising star, a bold blend, a refined bottle that promises to evolve very well over the long term. The taste buds are awakened and the appetite is already whetted with selected dishes such as Angus entrecôte with pepper sauce, or next winter with a light version of beef Wellington or a venison stew accompanied by fresh tagliatelle. Rating = 4.4.
