“The nose of Clos de Sarpe remains characterized by a warm quality. Notes of candied fruit and spices. A delightful touch on the attack. On the palate, the wine is charming and fruity. The tannins provide a solid foundation, and the finish—which is somewhat drying—confirms the warm character of the bouquet. ” (Yves Beck 2019) - Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding “Point Relais” delivery method)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated 92/100

About the wine:

Subtly spiced dark fruits, generous body with a hint of tannic bitterness, yet the wine as a whole possesses real depth.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated 2 stars (Outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2015 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

A remarkable wine, both appealing and serious. Its deep color hints at great concentration, which is evident at every stage of the tasting. Already powerful, the bouquet reveals candied red and black fruits, highlighted by well-integrated oak. Warm from the first sip, full-bodied and rich, the palate unfolds with elegant texture, structured by oak tannins that are still very present, signaling a wine built for aging.

About the estate:

This small, contiguous 3.7-hectare vineyard, ideally situated on the clay-limestone plateau of Sarpe, has been in the Beyney family since 1926. Jean-Guy Beyney, representing the third generation, took over in 1983 and saw his estate achieve the status of a classified growth with the 2012 classification.

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2018 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

A more mature profile with aromas of tea, plum cake, raisins, and spices. The palate follows the same theme of ripe fruit, with notes of marzipan. The tannins are crisp. Try it starting in 2022.

Le Figaro Wines

Le Figaro vins

About the wine:

The nose of Clos de Sarpe remains characterized by a warm quality. Notes of candied fruit and spices. A sweet touch on the attack. On the palate, the wine is charming and fruity. The tannins provide good structure, and the finish—which is somewhat drying—reinforces the warm character of the bouquet.

Jean-Marc Quarin

Jean-Marc Quarin

Wine rated (2018 guide) 90/100

About the wine:

It's hard not to be won over by the wine's rich, full-bodied, and intensely fruity character on the palate. The tannins are a touch astringent on the finish. Good length.
