Château Faugères

Château Faugères, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, is located in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, on the hillsides of the appellation. Its vineyards stretch across limestone and clay terroirs, which are particularly well-suited to Merlot—the predominant grape variety—blended with Cabernet Franc. The wines are distinguished by their fullness, depth, and freshness, with generous fruit and an elegant texture. Owned by Silvio Denz since 2005 (as is Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey in Sauternes), Château Faugères has undergone a profound transformation under his leadership. It is particularly famous for its spectacular gravity-fed cellar designed by architect Mario Botta, a true architectural signature of the estate.
