Fonbel Castle

Château de Fonbel is a family-owned estate belonging to Alain Vauthier, who also owns Château Ausone, one of the flagship wines of the Right Bank.

The 16 hectares of Château de Fonbel’s vineyard are located in the Saint-Émilion plain, on sandy-gravel soils where four grape varieties are grown: Merlot (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Petit Verdot (7%), and Carmenère (3%). The same expertise as at Ausone is applied, both in terms of viticulture and winemaking.

Château de Fonbel wines are Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wines of consistently high quality, and in recent years have been attracting the attention of the most discerning wine enthusiasts.
