Fonplégade Castle
Château Fonplégade is located on the southern hillside of Saint-Émilion, in the Bordeaux region. The current château was built in 1852, and the prestigious owners who succeeded one another established the reputation of Château Fonplégade’s wine, which was even classified as a Premier Grand Cru until the mid-1940s. Château Fonplégade has experienced a new lease on life since Stephen and Denise Adams became its owners in 2004. Significant investments, restructuring, and organic viticulture have enabled the production of wines that live up to their former reputation.

The Château Fonplégade vineyard is currently undergoing organic certification by ECOCERT. The 18.5 hectares of vineyards rest on soil composed of limestone, clay, and sand, imparting the characteristic minerality of Château Fonplégade’s wines. The blend, based on Merlot and Cabernet Franc and crafted under the guidance of Michel Rolland, yields a wine of character with soft, supple tannins. A truly great Bordeaux wine.
