Fonroque Castle
Château Fonroque is the Moueix family’s Saint-Émilion estate, acquired in 1931 by Jean and Adèle, the great-grandparents of Alain Moueix, who manages this lovely vineyard.

The vineyards at Château Fonroque are maintained through a program of regular replanting combined with drainage improvements. The practice of thinning the grapes, particularly in the young vines, is systematically applied. In the cellar, the introduction of meticulous barrel management and rigorous blending contribute significantly to quality. A substantial financial investment was made in 1993, resulting in the construction of a second barrel cellar, a bottling room, and a tasting room. The winemaking process, grounded in vineyard management that prioritizes fundamental balance, produces high-quality wines.

Alain Moueix took over management of the family estate in 2001. Each generation leaves its mark on Château Fonroque, and this one is no exception to the tradition.
