"Owned by the Vauthier family, this wine receives the same attention as the historic Ausone vineyard. It opens harmoniously with notes of ripe black cherry and blackcurrant, with crisp acidity, a hint of chalky minerality, and a medium-bodied finish. It will be enjoyable over the next 7 to 8 years. Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)
Rated estate (2014 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About wine:
Refined, distinguished, elegant, and with a beautiful length, this vintage has distinction.
About the estate:
Moulin Saint-Georges is to the grands crus of Saint-Émilion what Ausone is to the premiers crus classés A, especially since it belongs to the Vauthier family. It is managed according to principles similar to those of Ausone. Although the terroir is not the same and the wine does not possess the same finesse, each vintage displays overall harmony. This cru deserves better than its classification.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rating (2015 guide) 2 stars (Outstanding wine)
About wine:
Moulin Saint-Georges' vineyard covers 7 hectares of clay-limestone soil, 80% of which is planted with Merlot. Located opposite Ch. Ausone, it has belonged to the Vauthier family since 1921, just like its illustrious neighbor. The wine opens with delicious notes of ripe fruit, warm wood, and sweet spices; after aeration, delicate floral (violet) and peppery scents appear. The palate displays density and power, but also great elegance, supported by a lively, well-adjusted structure and fine, racy tannins. A wine that is at once compact and elegant, generous and fresh, with great aging potential.

Château Moulin Saint-Georges 2011 in bottle offers the finesse and density of a classified growth, with a hint of spice, but also a distinctive chalkiness. A very fine bottle, opened fairly early.
