“One of the most important vintages in the selection. Indeed, at this estate, all efforts are focused on a single wine. This 2015 offers all the qualities expected of the appellation: a deep color, a rich bouquet blending ripe wild berries (blackcurrant, cherry), licorice, and mocha; a warm attack on the palate, powerful, sap-filled, and long, with the distinctive stone fruit and minerality of the vineyard, marked on the finish by woody tannins with notes of coffee and cocoa that will ensure its aging potential.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019) A perfect expression of the terroir!

About the wine:
One of the most important vintages in the selection. Indeed, at this estate, all efforts are focused on a single wine. This 2015 offers all the qualities expected of the appellation: a deep color, a rich bouquet blending ripe wild berries (blackcurrant, cherry), licorice, and mocha; a warm attack on the palate, powerful, sap-like, and long-lasting, with the distinctive stone fruit and minerality of the terroir, marked on the finish by woody tannins with notes of coffee and cocoa that ensure aging potential.
About the estate:
A staple of the appellation, this estate, located at the foot of the Saint-Laurent valleys, became part of the Mestreguilhem family in 1929. The 7 hectares of that time have grown to 26 today. The estate has been managed since 1983 by Richard Mestreguilhem, who was joined in 2014 by his son Jean, an agricultural engineer, who now oversees technical operations.

Not being very familiar with Bordeaux wines, I was thoroughly charmed by this pleasant wine with its strong, appealing character. A real success!

shows potential but is still far too young. The tannins are quite harsh on the finish.
