Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2026) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

Here is a lovely wine made primarily from Merlot, classically aged in oak and offering notes of red fruit—juicy cherry in particular—and cocoa. On the palate, it doesn’t have a heavy body but rather a supple, delicate, and approachable texture that’s quite easy to drink. A bottle that can be enjoyed while still young. 2027–2032

About the estate:

A staple of the appellation, this estate, located at the foot of the Saint-Laurent valleys, became part of the Mestreguilhem family in 1929. The 7 hectares of that time have grown to 26 today. The estate has been managed since 1983 by Richard Mestreguilhem, who was joined in 2014 by his son Jean, an agricultural engineer, who now oversees technical operations.

Ripe and alluring, this wine offers bold flavors of blackberry and plum purée, subtly enhanced by a hint of warm blackcurrant, all supported by a velvety structure with mocha undertones. Notes of licorice and applewood blend harmoniously on the finish with toasty notes. For lovers of expressive wines. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. At its peak from 2026 to 2035. Production: 12,000 cases, including 500 imported.
