Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 16/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About wine:
Floral, full-bodied, and silky, this wine is utterly charming.
About the estate:
On par with the grands crus classés, this grand cru, grown on clay-limestone and sandy soils, displays excellent consistency.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2016 guide) Mentioned (Successful wine)
About wine:
Smoky and toasty notes, red berries, a hint of leather and pepper—the nose is inviting. On the palate, it is round, full-bodied, and smooth, echoing the fruitiness and spiciness of the nose. The tannins are velvety but become more austere on the finish, and the oak still needs to integrate. Promising.

Wine rated (2017 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2017 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
Immediate, tender, smooth, and very approachable, with a sweetness that completely envelops its structure, the distinctly Merlot-style 2012 offers undeniable charm and an exuberant, well-integrated flavor.
About the estate:
Its absence seems like an injustice in the 2012 classification, given the consistency and quality of this estate’s wines, which were among the region’s leading examples of garage wines. Founded in 1994 by former professional soccer player Eric Prissette and vinified under the guidance of Stéphane Derenoncourt, the estate quickly established itself with seductive, round, and smooth wines. The vineyard consists of two distinct sites: one in the eastern part of the appellation, near Valandraud, in Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, and the other in the western part, near Clos de Jacobins. Sold in 2009 to Alexandra and Nicolas Robin, Rol Valentin continues its momentum without faltering. Greater complexity—both in the structure of the wine and in its aromas—would, however, further enhance its reputation.
