Château Tertre Rotebœuf

Tertre Rotebœuf Castle
Ideally situated on the southern slope of St-Émilion (renowned in the Bordeaux region as the pinnacle of slope wines), Château Tertre Rotebœuf is likely the most unique terroir in the area. This vineyard, of Gallo-Roman origin, benefits from a rare microclimate, as it consists solely of south-southeast-facing hillsides (sloping slightly toward the rising sun).

The clay-limestone soil produces deep, full-bodied, and well-structured wines. The winemaking process takes into account grapes harvested at peak ripeness and a long fermentation period (resulting in a wine rich in flavor with excellent aging potential).
The vineyard at Château Tertre Rotebœuf is planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

The vintages vary greatly (there is no second wine), but are characterized by a beautiful deep color and a rich bouquet of very ripe fruit. On the palate, the wines are full-bodied and display a rich, evolving aromatic profile. Château Tertre Rotebœuf is often described as “the Burgundy of Bordeaux.”
