Old Pourret Castle
Château Vieux Pourret is located in Saint-Emilion near Bordeaux, a legendary wine region. A small-scale operation (6 hectares), Château Vieux Pourret produces Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wines. Its owner, Sylvie Richert-Boutet, strives to work in harmony with nature. As such, work on the soil and vines is linked to the lunar calendar. The Château Vieux Pourret vineyard is free of herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides. The team has grown with the arrival of Michel Tardieu and Olivier Dauga.

To produce vibrant grapes, Château Vieux Pourret's vineyard manager, Jean-Philippe Turtaut, uses natural preparations to work alongside the plants, strengthening their autonomy and helping them to draw out and extract the best from the Saint-Emilion terroir. These grapes form the basis of a wine which, through traditional vinification methods, ensures a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc that delivers on its promises. Château Vieux Pourret is the first vineyard in Saint-Emilion to convert to biodynamics, with DEMETER certification. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted in baskets and on sorting tables. For aging, Olivier Dauga and Michel Tardieu have chosen barrels that bring elegance, finesse, and balance, while preserving the fruit and smoothness of the wine. In 2008, all these talents combined gave birth to the cuvée: Dixit Château Vieux-Pourret.
