Domaine rated (guide 2021) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine:
A sumptuous, racy, complex nose with a multitude of blended aromas, and a mouth that's second to none, with remarkable depth, present, polished tannins, length, fatness and impeccable balance. A great Haut-Marbuzet.
About the domain :
This world-famous cru is located in Marbuzet, a hillside facing the Gironde. Its vineyards lie halfway between Cos d'Estournel and Montrose. Henri Dubosq, a key figure in the Médoc, has been successfully vinifying the estate's wines since 1982. In 2006, he joined forces with Philippe Jorand, a Michelin-starred chef, to enhance the 13 hectares of Château Layauga-Duboscq, located on excellent terroirs around Gaillan and Queyrac. The wines of Haut-Marbuzet are always of great constitution, combining roundness and voluptuousness, with a great aptitude for ageing. Haut-Marbuzet is truly an unmissable super-property in the appellation.

About the wine:
Announced by a colorful robe, this fine 2019 develops a wide-open, gourmet bouquet of vanilla, coconut and red and black fruits. Voluminous, full-bodied and very fresh, the palate does not lag behind, the flesh perfectly marrying the tannins. A Saint-Estèphe well equipped to stand the test of time. 2027-2035

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
The 2019 is one of the vintage's undisputed successes, with the distinctive mouthfeel and fruit coating that are the hallmarks of Henri Duboscq's great successes. A wine both dense and sensual. It will be perfect in 10 years.
About the domain :
No other Bordeaux cru can boast such a community of unconditional wine lovers. For over thirty years, Haut-Marbuzet and its truculent and dynamic owner, Henri Dubosq, now supported by his sons, have conquered the hearts of discerning oenophiles. If the wines have long been considered charming in their youth (which they undeniably are), but limited in terms of ageing potential, it takes tasting mature vintages of this Saint-Estèphe cru to understand that its terroir is above all capable of producing wines that age wonderfully. The old Merlots planted on blue clay give Haut-Marbuzet's bouquet superb truffle notes reminiscent of certain old Pomerols. Like many other wines, Haut-Marbuzet suffered a slight setback in the early 2000s, but its comeback in recent years makes it more essential than ever in the cellar of wine-lovers.

About the wine:
Haut-Marbuzet 2019 is fabulous. In fact, it's one of the best recent vintages I can remember. It exudes an energy, a vivacity, that is absolutely captivating. Notes of crushed flowers, ripe red fruit, mint, chalk and blood orange are sublimated by lively acidity and tannins that still need time to fully integrate. The 2019 is simply impressive. 2027-2044

About the wine:
On the nose, aromas of black and blue fruits, nuts, sauce, vanilla, praline and cigar box. A full-bodied wine with fine tannins. Balanced, complex and refined, with a fleshy texture. Harmonious, elegant and intense. Magnificent finish. An exceptional wine. To be enjoyed from 2025.

About the wine:
What expression and complexity in this bouquet! Its notes of gingerbread, blackberry and raspberry are inviting. On the palate, the wine reveals itself step by step, very gently. It enters the palate on tiptoe, eventually revealing powerful yet silky tannins on the finish. These are matched by the acidic structure, creating an exceptional balance! A full-bodied, lively, fruity wine with a healthy dose of serenity. A great success. 2026-2049
