"There's no doubt about it: the 2025 vintage continues the series of successes for this estate in the style that is its strength and has built its reputation! ~ La RVF"

“The freshness and subtlety of the bouquet hint at a delightful wine. It reveals notes of blueberries and blackcurrants, along with a touch of eucalyptus and fresh wood. On the palate, the wine gradually gains in breadth and vigor. Its creamy tannins provide a serene power coupled with a structuring and refreshing acidity. The depth of Haut-Marbuzet unfolds across the palate, reaching its full breadth on the finish. A touch of austerity on the finish lends freshness and extends the length. A great success with a bright future ahead! » (Yves Beck 2026)

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95/100

Rated estate (2021 guide): 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the wine:

Delicious, rich, and smooth, with a distinct yet perfectly balanced oakiness. A noble and immediately appealing harmony.

About the estate:

This world-renowned estate is located in Marbuzet, on a hillside overlooking the Gironde River. Its vineyards lie halfway between Cos d’Estournel and Montrose. Henri Dubosq, a leading figure in the Médoc, has been crafting the estate’s wines with great success since 1982. In 2006, he partnered with Philippe Jorand, a Michelin-starred chef, to bring out the best in the 13 hectares of Château Layauga-Duboscq, situated on prime terroirs around Gaillan and Queyrac. Haut-Marbuzet’s wines have always been full-bodied, combining roundness and richness, with excellent aging potential. Haut-Marbuzet is truly a superb, must-visit estate within the appellation.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 94-95/100

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

There’s no doubt about it: the 2025 vintage continues the wine’s string of successes in the style that is its strength and has built its reputation. Smooth, silky, and intensely fruity, it is driven by the great Merlot grapes of its terroir and delivers an explosive palate with magnificent tannins.

About the estate:

No other Bordeaux estate can claim to have such a devoted community of wine lovers. For more than thirty years, Haut-Marbuzet and its colorful and dynamic owner, Henri Dubosq—now supported by his sons—have won the hearts of discerning wine connoisseurs. While these wines have long been considered charming in their youth (which they undeniably are), yet limited in terms of aging potential, one must taste the mature vintages of this Saint-Estèphe estate to understand that its terroir is above all capable of producing wines that age beautifully. The old Merlot vines planted on blue clay lend Haut-Marbuzet’s bouquet superb truffle notes reminiscent of certain old Pomerols. Like many others, the estate experienced a slight dip in form in the early 2000s, but its strong comeback in recent years makes it more indispensable than ever in any wine lover’s cellar.

About the wine:

Expressive, fruity, and very full-bodied. The nose is bursting with red berries and sweet cherries, with a floral touch. Medium-bodied, with fine, firm tannins. A delicious hint of fruit pulp on the finish.
