Bettane & Desseauve
“An elegant, complex bouquet with delicate fruity notes, hints of blackcurrant and blueberry, and a touch of spice. Distinguished and well-structured on the palate. The wine offers fullness, balance, and freshness, thanks to its acidic structure, which also supports the flavor profile right through to the finish. A wine with character that deserves some aging. ” (Yves Beck 2020)

About the wine:
An elegant, fruity, and mineral-driven nose; a beautifully structured palate with plenty of body and maturity, rich, firm tannins, a vigorous finish, and plenty of character.
Decanter
Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
A complex nose of chocolate, cherries, plums, and blackcurrants. Delicious from the very first sip, it makes your cheeks pucker; the tannins are abundant and fill the mouth with a soft, juicy texture that’s truly delightful. I really love this density—it’s full-bodied without being overpowering; it’s all about balance. A truly enjoyable wine, perfect for pairing with a good meal, and one that will age well, continuing to integrate and soften, though I love its fruity confidence right now. Hints of sweet milk chocolate, chalk, and a hint of herbaceousness too—everything you need in a good Bordeaux! Typicality and approachability. A sure bet!

About the wine:
Ideally situated on the Saint-Estèphe plateau, the estate produces this rich, full-bodied wine. The still-astringent tannins indicate its aging potential. The tannins are balanced by notes of blackcurrant.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
Laffitte Carcasset is a magnificent wine and one of the Médoc wines to watch in 2018. (...) The wine’s overall balance is most impressive. Don’t miss it.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberries, walnut shells, dried leaves, and dark spices. It is medium-bodied with firm, tight tannins. Fresh and well-structured. Notes of crushed stone emerge on the finish.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 90/100
About the wine:
An elegant, complex bouquet with delicate fruity notes, hints of blackcurrant and blueberry, and a touch of spice. It has a refined, well-structured character on the palate. The wine offers fullness, balance, and freshness, thanks to its acid structure, which also supports the flavor profile all the way through to the finish. A wine with character that is worth cellaring for a few years.
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is fresh, mineral, and elegant, offering lovely freshness and power. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, ripe and fresh wild strawberry, and a hint of licorice, combined with subtle hints of blackcurrant, blueberry, and elegant minerality, as well as very subtle hints of tonka bean. The palate is fresh, fruity, and balanced, offering lovely definition, freshness, tension, precision, and a fresh, tangy structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy, fresh blackcurrant and, to a lesser extent, juicy, fresh blackberry, combined with subtle hints of fresh red fruits (cherry, raspberry), delicate notes of chocolate, toast, and caramelization, as well as an imperceptible hint of tonka bean and cardamom.
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
A generous dose of fresh, sweet red currants, cedar, and tobacco leaf form the core of this smooth, full-bodied, and fruity wine. It may not be the most complex wine, but it’s hard to find a Cabernet Sauvignon with more character at this price point.
