"Elegant, complex bouquet with filigree fruity notes and hints of blackcurrant, blueberry and spice. Racy, compact character on the palate. The wine is full-bodied,balanced and fresh. It owes this to its acid structure, which also supports the taste expression right through to the finish. A wine of character, which deserves a little cellaring". (Yves Beck 2020)

Rated wine (guide 2019) Selected (Selected)

About the wine:

Elegant, fruity, mineral nose, very well-crafted palate, with plenty of volume and ripeness, fat, tight tannins, vigorous finish and character.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

A complex nose of chocolate, cherries, plums and blackcurrants. Immediately succulent, it pulls your cheeks in, the tannins are abundant and fill the mouth with a sweet, juicy chew that's really pleasant. I really like this density, it's full without being too full, it's all about balance. A really pleasant wine, to be enjoyed with a good meal and which will age well as it continues to integrate and soften, but I like its fruity assurance for the moment. Hints of sweet milk chocolate, chalk and a herbal element too - everything you need in a good Bordeaux! Typicity and accessibility. A sure bet!

Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100

About the wine:

Ideally situated on the Saint-Estèphe plateau, the Domaine produces this rich, full-bodied cuvée. The astringent tannins show the wine's ageing potential. Tannins balance with notes of blackcurrant fruit.

About the wine:

Laffitte Carcasset is a magnificent wine and one of the Médoc wines to watch in 2018. (...) The overall balance of the wine is most impressive. Don't miss it.

About the wine:

Nose of blackcurrants, blackberries, walnut shells, dried leaves and black spices. Medium-bodied, with firm, tight tannins. Fresh and structured. Crushed stone appears in retro-olfaction.

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fresh, mineral and racy, with a lovely freshness and power. There are notes of fresh blackberry, ripe/fresh wild strawberry and a hint of licorice, combined with hints of blackcurrant, blueberry, racy minerality and very fine hints of tonka bean. Fresh, fruity and balanced on the palate, with lovely definition, freshness, tension, precision and a fresh/acidic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses juicy/fresh blackcurrant and, more slightly, juicy/fresh blackberry notes, combined with small touches of fresh red fruit (cherry, raspberry), fine hints of chocolate, toastiness, caramelization and an imperceptible hint of tonka bean and cardamom.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

A good dose of fresh, sweet red currants, cedar and tobacco leaf create the core of this mellow, full-bodied, fruity wine. It may not be the most complex wine, but it's hard to find a better Cabernet Sauvignon-based character wine for its price.
