"True to form, with breathtaking harmony, soothing like a lullaby, and promised a bright future!"

Such serenity and confidence in Meyney 2020! It must be said that it has been in orbit for some time now... this wine will transport you to unexpected realms of pleasure! The symbiosis between fruity nuances, spices, minerality, and aging notes is delightful and highlights the wine's complexity. Dense and defined, Meyney benefits from velvety, precise tannins that offer discreet but oh-so-effective power! They have managed to do just what was needed, allowing it to shine without going overboard. Subtlety and finesse are what we need in 2020. Well done to the whole team! (Yves Beck 2022) - Delivery in wooden crates is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2019 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Acquired by CA Grands Crus in 2004, Meyney is a little gem of Médoc architecture, prized both for its location and the quality of its wines. The fifty or so hectares surrounding the château, located on a ridge of siliceous gravel and deep blue clay on the banks of the Gironde, give Cabernet Sauvignon the advantage. The wines have regained their former glory and have great aging potential. A must-try.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 95/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About wine:

The 2020 follows in the footsteps of the very solid 2019 and the wine is well-structured, but also very racy and well-balanced. It has a lot of depth and beautifully defined tannins that harmonize on the finish.

About the estate:

This vintage is undoubtedly one of the best "unclassified" wines in the Médoc. It must be said that it benefits from a remarkable terroir, located on the banks of the Gironde, and is efficiently managed by the teams at CA Grands Crus (Crédit Agricole), now headed by Anne le Naour. A vineyard restructuring plan has been implemented and the latest vintages are comparable to the legendary 61, 86 and 89 vintages of this wine. Meyney develops slowly and is more of a long-distance runner, reaching its peak after a good ten years.

About wine:

A pure and joyful nose, refined and precise, with notes of ripe summer red fruits and aromatic herbs, with a salinity that counterbalances the sweetness of the fruit. Breathtakingly harmonious on the palate, soothing like a lullaby. A beautiful balance of fruit and flowers, delicacy and power. This property is improving in quality and finesse. 2023-2048

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2023 guide) 95-96/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The wine has a deep ruby color with slight purple highlights. The nose is fragrant, delicately woody (especially on the first nose) and spicy. It expresses notes of toasted wood, toasted almonds, coffee, a touch of caramel, as well as a refined spiciness (clove, vanilla, licorice, ground gray pepper, crushed coriander seeds), combined with a subtle sweetness of dark chocolate. The fruit aromas are precise and slightly tart: there are notes of fresh blackcurrant, blueberry, crushed raspberry, morello cherry, and wild strawberry, as well as hints of dried mint, rosemary, bay leaf, violet, and lily in the background. On the palate, the wine offers a rich, concentrated, and ripe fruitiness, harmoniously combined with powerful tannins. It expresses flavors of fresh and jammy wild strawberries, ripe morello cherries, wild blackberries, blackcurrants (with a hint of crème de cassis) and prune cream, combined with delicious and savory touches of cocoa, dark chocolate, cloves, licorice, cinnamon (in the background), toasted vanilla, as well as floral notes of dried rose, fresh violet, and wildflowers, complemented by the freshness of mint and rosemary. The finish is long and fragrant, with the wine's spicy, rich, and warm bouquet. Beautiful tannic structure and acidity. A powerful, deep, and refined wine for aging.
