"Faithful to the appointment with breathtaking harmony, soothing as a lullaby, and promised to a bright future!"

" The serenity and assurance of Meyney 2020! It must be said that it has been in orbit for some time now... this wine will take you to unsuspected worlds of pleasure! The symbiosis of fruity nuances, spices, minerality and ageing notes is delightful and underlines the wine's complexity. Dense and defined, Meyney benefits from velvety, precise tannins that offer discreet but highly effective power! We've managed to make it do what it needed to do: shine without overdoing it. Subtlety and finesse, that's what 2020 needs. Well done to the whole team" (Yves Beck 2022) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2019 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Bought by CA Grands Crus in 2004, Meyney is a little jewel of Médoc architecture, prized as much for its location as for the quality of its wines. The fifty or so hectares surrounding the château, situated on a ridge of siliceous gravel and deep blue clay on the banks of the Gironde, give Cabernet Sauvignon the upper hand. The wines have regained the lustre of their heyday. They have long-ageing potential. A must-try.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 95/100

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

The 2020 follows in the footsteps of the very solid 2019 and the wine is solidly constituted, but also very racy and finds its balance. It has plenty of substance and well-defined tannins that harmonize on the finish.

About the domain :

The cru is unquestionably one of the best "non classé" in the Médoc. It boasts a remarkable terroir on the banks of the Gironde, and is efficiently managed by the CA Grands Crus (Crédit Agricole) teams, now headed by Anne le Naour. A plan to restructure the vineyard has been implemented, and the latest vintages are comparable to those of the legendary 61, 86 or 89. Meyney is a rather slow-moving, long-distance runner, reaching his peak after a good ten years.

About the wine:

A pure, joyful nose, fine and precise, with notes of ripe red summer fruit and aromatic herbs, with a salinity that counterbalances the sweetness of the fruit. Stunningly harmonious on the palate, soothing as a lullaby. A beautiful balance of fruit and flowers, delicacy and power. This property is rising in quality and finesse. 2023-2048

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2023 guide) 95-96/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The wine has a deep ruby color with slight purplish highlights. The nose is fragrant, delicately woody (especially the first nose) and spicy. It expresses notes of heated wood, toasted almond, coffee, a touch of caramel, as well as a refined spiciness (clove, vanilla, licorice, ground gray pepper, crushed coriander seeds), combined with a fine sweetness of dark chocolate. The fruit aromas are precise and slightly acidic: fresh blackcurrant, blueberry, crushed raspberry, morello cherry and wild strawberry, with hints of dried mint, rosemary, bay leaf, violet and lily in the background. On the palate, the wine offers rich, concentrated, ripe fruit, harmoniously combined with powerful tannins. It expresses flavors of fresh, jammy wild strawberry, ripe Morello cherry, wild blackberry, blackcurrant (with a hint of crème de cassis) and crème de prune, combined with a gourmet, savory touch of cocoa, dark chocolate, cloves, licorice, cinnamon (in the background) and toasted vanilla, as well as floral notes of dried rose, fresh violet and wild flowers, rounded out by a freshness of mint and rosemary. The finish is long and fragrant, with the wine's spicy, rich and warm bouquet. Good tannic structure and acidity. A wine for ageing, powerful, deep and refined.
