" Great aromatic character, powerful and clean body, complex tannins, splendid purity of expression. " (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2011- Bettane & Desseauve). Grown on perfectly drained siliceous gravel soil, this Saint-Estèphe is synonymous with harmony and balance. The utmost care is taken to deliver a wine with typical red fruit aromas and beautiful aromatic complexity...

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2019 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Acquired by CA Grands Crus in 2004, Meyney is a little gem of Médoc architecture, prized both for its location and the quality of its wines. The fifty or so hectares surrounding the château, located on a ridge of siliceous gravel and deep blue clay on the banks of the Gironde, give Cabernet Sauvignon the advantage. The wines have regained their former glory and have great aging potential. A must-try.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

This vintage is undoubtedly one of the best "unclassified" wines in the Médoc. It must be said that it benefits from a remarkable terroir, located on the banks of the Gironde, and is efficiently managed by the teams at CA Grands Crus (Crédit Agricole), now headed by Anne le Naour. A vineyard restructuring plan has been implemented and the latest vintages are comparable to the legendary 61, 86 and 89 vintages of this wine. Meyney develops slowly and is more of a long-distance runner, reaching its peak after a good ten years.
