"What a dazzling performance! It's a must-see for fans..."
“While Frank Phélan reveals itself with serenity, Phélan Ségur complements this with precision and depth. Its myriad subtle nuances underscore both its complexity and precision. On the palate, the wine strikes a balance between vigor and elegance. It possesses character and depth and is supported by delicate bitter notes that enhance both the freshness and the lingering finish. Frank Phélan and the estate’s teams set the bar very high; the wine rose to the challenge with impressive confidence.” (Yves Beck 2025) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and selected shipping method)

Wine rated (2023 guide) 95/100
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the wine:
Undoubtedly one of the finest wines produced by the estate and its talented team. Dense, refined, and deep, it holds the promise of a truly moving experience—one that requires patience. A must-have for wine lovers.
About the estate:
Owned by the Gardinier brothers (who also run Les Crayères in Reims and the Taillevent restaurants in Paris), Phélan was sold in 2018 to a passionate collector of Bordeaux wines, Philippe Van de Vyvere. This wine, which is in a sense the first cousin of Calon-Ségur, is one of the most renowned in the region. Beautifully situated on the banks of the Garonne, it offers a very distinctive character, marked by notes of cedar and a smooth mid-palate. 2015 was one of the appellation’s standout vintages, while 2016 and 2018 display refined tannins worthy of the finest classified growths.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the wine:
A vintage in top form, marking a very successful 2022, which was vinified entirely in 500-liter barrels using native yeasts. The intense nose reveals notes of red and black berries against a subtly smoky backdrop. The dark fruit becomes more defined and loses none of its vibrancy on the palate, which is both fresh and smooth, supported by a tannic structure that is already velvety. Long, sap-filled, and lively, it has great aging potential, but no one will blame you for enjoying it while it’s still young. 2028–2040
About the estate:
Located on the plateau next to the village of Saint-Estèphe, this estate combines an impressive complex of neoclassical buildings with a first-rate terroir: 70 hectares of clay-gravel soil. It also boasts renowned owners. Bernard Phélan, who already owned Dom. de Garamey, purchased land in 1810 from Joseph-Marie de Ségur, Count of Cabanac (who shared only a name with the Ségurs of Lafite and Calon). Then, for a long time, the Delons, a leading name in the Médoc, Xavier Gardinier starting in 1985, and finally Philippe Van de Vyvere since 2018.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
This stunning, iconic estate in Saint-Estèphe, with its superb terroir on the banks of the Gironde, has had a new owner since January 2018. It is now up to Belgian industrialist Philippe Van de Vyvere to write the next chapter in the history of what is indisputably one of the best unclassified wines of the Médoc. He has everything he needs to do so and is expected to continue along the path he has been following for several years now. Phélan Ségur produces a noble wine, not always showy, but distinguished and with excellent aging potential.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 95/100
About the wine:
A very structured red from Phelan Segur, with incredibly powerful, long, and linear tannins. At the same time, it reveals deep aromas of black fruits, such as blackcurrant and blackberry. Medium-bodied, it displays numerous phenolic grape aromas and a palate full of dried spices. Very robust, yet it is invigorating and well-balanced. 56% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. A Phelan with great aging potential. Old-school in a modern style. Best enjoyed after 2029.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100
About the wine:
A nose that is both rich and precise, with a distinct character, blending ripe fruit and vibrant energy. This harmony expands on the palate, which is fresh and briny, with the addition of delicately velvety tannins that lend an appetizing body. The ultra-refined finish, with notes of mocha, leaves you wanting more. 2029–2047
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2023 guide) 97/100
About the wine:
The Merlot content is unprecedented at 56%, and it lends the wine a distinct charm right from the first whiff, where concentrated violet aromas pair with a subtle toasty note. The juicy, full-bodied attack reveals a vertical structure, well-integrated tannins, lovely flavors of crisp blackcurrant, and a remarkably long finish.
