Bettane & Desseauve
With lots of minerality, a superb opaque purple color, and a little more structure and tannin than Poyferre or St.-Pierre (and that's saying something), this is a blockbuster, fabulous Ducru Beaucaillou that should be at its peak in a good decade and for 40 to 50 years. The owner is not alone in thinking that this is the best Ducru Beaucaillou since 1961. The classic wet rock, crème de cassis, subtle oak, and stony vineyard character come through in this spectacular, full-bodied, beautifully pure, and intense opus. This is a wine that will stand the test of time and should be forgotten for at least a decade. (Wine Advocate 2013 - Robert Parker) Delivery in wooden cases for all orders of 12 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method).

Wine rated 19.5/20 (Wine of exceptional quality)
Rated estate (2020 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About wine:
A rare opulence without compromising on refinement of texture and tannins, in a vintage ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. It is close to perfection.
About the estate:
Since 2003, Bruno Borie, with the invaluable help of Éric Boissenot as oenological advisor, has enabled this renowned wine to return to its highest level, very close to and sometimes superior to certain premier crus. The second wine, La Croix-de-Beaucaillou, which includes the remarkable vines of the former Terrey Gros Cailloux, has been among the best in its category since 2005. A third Saint-Julien, Lalande-Borie, an old and respected brand in the wine trade, is a supple, elegant and early-maturing wine from vines that belonged to Château Lagrange in 1855.

This is a wine that will stand the test of time and should be forgotten for at least a decade. Owner Bruno Borie believes this wine is as superb as their 2009. Slightly more structured and less flamboyant than its predecessor, it is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot from the best plots in the vineyard. This wine tips the balance at 14% natural alcohol but has a normal pH of 3.6, which is one of the characteristics of this vintage (high alcohol, normal pH), explaining the freshness and precision of most 2010 wines.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2020 guide) 3 stars (These represent the excellence of French vineyards. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment.)
About the estate:
Lovers of classic Médoc wines will find what they are looking for with Ducru-Beaucaillou. Bruno Borie manages this superb vineyard with talent and determination; in recent years, he has placed it among the top Bordeaux wines. Never ostentatious, over-extracted or overly powerful, these wines shine with their distinction and silky texture. They are deep, digestible and balanced Médoc wines. Be careful, however, as a Ducru-Beaucaillou only reveals its full potential with age, so it is always a shame to taste it too early; its great freshness on the finish and the elegant texture of its tannins are testament to the exceptional capacity of its terroir. Croix de Beaucaillou, the château's former second wine, is now a wine in its own right, with its own dedicated vineyard.

About wine:
Not shy at all, with a flamboyant aromatic profile of grilled apple and wood and warm ganache, with more than enough substance in the form of layers of blackberry jam, fig, and plum soaked in Pastis. The structure is massive but incredibly polished, and the fruit displays breathtaking purity thanks to the graphite-supported finish. A great success. At its peak between 2020 and 2040.

A great wine, endowed with great maturity and richness, majestic in its structure and straightforward character. It is concentrated, fragrant, and opulent. The style of Ducru Beaucaillou is both generous and powerful, and clearly made for aging.
