Château Teynac

Château Teynac is located on the most beautiful gravelly hilltops of Saint-Julien, on the Beychevelle vineyards, nestled among the Grands Crus Classés that make up 90% of the appellation’s total area. The third edition of *Bordeaux and Its Wines*, published in 1874, states: “Château Teynac, ranked among the second and fourth growths in the official classification of 1834.”

In 1990, Château Teynac, along with Château Corconnac, became the property of the Pairault family. Traditional viticultural methods, sustainable pest management, hand-harvesting with sorting, careful and meticulous winemaking, and aging in French oak barrels result in wines from Château Teynac that are rich in color and fine tannins—qualities that have earned the estate numerous awards. At Teynac, it is this respect for the raw material that gives the wines both finesse and power, as is characteristic of Saint-Julien.
